The Sterling stands 50 stories tall and is located near the Chicago River on the southeast corner of LaSalle and Kinzie streets in the prestigious and popular River North area of Downtown Chicago. The building opened for occupancy in the spring of 2002, and its 389 residential units include studio, one, two and three bedroom homes. Our amenities include a newly renovated fitness center, heated outdoor swimming pool, sun deck, two outdoor tennis courts, an extensive BBQ area and a hospitality/party room – all of these are located on the 14th floor. In addition to the residential tower, there is a large commercial space located on the ground level, and includes a 7-Eleven, CVS Pharmacy, drycleaners, a Subway restaurant, and the upscale Untitled 111 Restaurant. Also, there is an eleven story parking garage adjacent to the building. While the garage is not part of the condominium association, it does provide convenient parking for residents and their guests at reasonable rates.
The creation of this “Gateway to the Loop” is considered by many to be architecturally significant, and in-unit amenities include a washer/dryer, granite countertops, garbage disposals and open kitchens. There are private balconies in select homes, and many units have been upgraded with hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances.
